President Omar Al Bashir called the SPLM insects to be eliminated and cancer to be destroyed and the Government of South Sudan said the comments amount to a genocide warning.

Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin told journalists that Al Bashir’s comments signal Khartoum’s plan to carry out genocide in South Sudan like he is doing in Dafur, South Kordofan and Blue Nile.

He urged the UN Security Council and the AU to be alert because Khartoum has a genocidal policy.

Dr Marial recalled that when the Hutu started to call Tutsi people cockroaches it ended in the Rwandan genocide of 1994 where 800,000 people were murdered.
