A lightning killed on Tuesday a female pupil form Don Bosco Primary School in Tonj, Warrap State.
Augustine Akoc Agoth, Executive Director of Tonj South County and uncle to the deceased, said Atong Mayom Agoth was killed by a lightning near a mango tree while she was collecting water from a hand-pump, Don Bosco FM reported.The 12-year-old girl was accompanied by small boy who escaped unharmed.
Mr Akoc added that the community conducted traditional rituals till the morning hours before Atong was buried.
The incident took place between six to seven PM.
