Nearly 450 primary pupils and nursery kids from the diocese of El-Obeid are not going to study since their schools were closed in June and the teachers went back to Kenya.
Kumbur Payam Education Supervisor, Kodeti Changalo, said there are 400 pupils and over 50 kindergarten kids are waiting for the diocese schools to open.He said though some of the pupils have gone to Yida, East Africa and the rest has joined other schools but most of them are still seen in the streets in the area.
Mr Changalo added that up to now majority of pupils have joined the government schools and he encouraged the parents to advice their children to join other schools.
He assured the pupils that learning in the remote areas, towns or aboard has no different in getting skills and knowledge.
Mr Changalo explained to the pupils that the same grade a person can obtained in other continents makes no difference with the one in Nuba Mountains but only the different comes in term of commitment.
Many primary and secondary schools under the Diocese of El-Obeid were closed since June 2010 due to the unrest situation that cannot allow the expatriate teachers to continue working there.
