Yei Director of Traffic Police said the new boda-boda number plates are ready and they should be distributed within two days to commercial riders.
Andrew Kenyi told Radio Easter that the County has received 100 new green number plates to be issued for taxi motorbikes to differentiate them from private motorcycles.He said the green number plates were issued by the Policy of the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with the Traffic Police.
Mr Kenyi explained that the new commercial number plates for motorbikes are another remedy to curb accidents involving boda-boda riders since now they can easily be identified.
He added that the 100 new number plates were the first batch as more were expected to arrive from Juba after the launch on Friday.
Boda Boda riders have to register with their Union in order to apply for the new green number plates.
