The National Grievances Chamber said yesterday in Juba that it has received 112 complaints and that some of them were partially sorted out.

Public Grievances Chamber Chairperson Deng Biong Mijak explained that some grievance cases involve many people.

He said the Chamber was able to resolve a case involving 800 SPLA officers and soldiers who were unjustifiable dismissed with the assistance of President Salva Kiir.

Justice Biong said the Chamber was organizing a workshop to develop its strategic plan of activities.

He pointed out that the Chamber lacks a strong department of investigation that is vital to carry out its work.

Justice Biong explained that the cases reported needed thorough investigations by law experts.

He added that the current structure is not appropriate for the Chamber to discharge its mandate.
