Two car accidents left a big number of injured on Sunday on the Wau-Aweil and Wau-Kwajok roads testing the Wau Hospital capacities to the limit.
Marcelo Gabriel Ganda, a medical officer in Wau Teaching Hospital, told Radio Voice of Hope that two cars collided on the way from Wau to Aweil leaving 18 people injured.
Mr Gabriel said among the victims were five women, three children and ten male passengers.
He said the injured people were distributed to different wards at the hospital and the staff is working in two shifts to assist them.
He added that the pharmacy was open 24 hours per day and it run out of anti-tetanus medicines.
Mr Gabriel said the patients had to buy them in private pharmacies in town, incurring in extra expenses.
Mr Gabriel added that the hospital was expecting another 14 injured people from a head-on crash between two passenger vehicles near Tonj.
