Agro dealer from Greater Equatoria started this morning in Yei a five-day training under theme Seeds for development to improve their business management skills and agricultural inputs in order to advance towards commercial production.

Yei River County Assistant Agriculture Commissioner Edimon Gogo said South Sudanese farmers lost good technologies due to the long civil war, Radio Easter reported.

He appealed to the facilitators to supply South Sudan with technical means to develop its agriculture.

Caleb Wangia, from the international Fertilizer Development Centre, said it was essential to develop the private sector to increase agricultural production in the next crop season due to start in March.

More than 30 participants from the three Equatoria states are attending the training.
