Food distribution has improved in Yida Refugee Camp of Unity State following last month’s reported shortages.
SPLM-North Deputy Secretary of Administration Affairs Aluma M. said that she visited the camp yesterday.She added that the head of the camp told her that for the first time he received enough food from UNHCR, the UN agency for the refugees.
Ms Aluma said the UN humanitarian agency asked donors to rescue refugees from starvation at Yida Camp and the supply of food increased.
She urged the people of Nuba Mountains to send their children to secondary schools in Yida, because the situation in the camp is good.
