A group of civil servants is learning how to keep records and use the information for better planning.

Richard Watto, a facilitator from the Kenya Institute of Management, told Bakhta Radio that the training was aimed at improving basic skills to ensure proper organization of records in order to deliver services to the people.

Clark Boll Deng Mabior said he did not know how to keep and file records.

He said he learned the regulations set by the Government about retention and destruction of documents.

Mr Watto explained that it was very critical for any country to ensure that civil servants know how to keep records under their custody to be able to learn from the past and make informed decisions.

The workshop is organised by the governments of South Sudan and Kenya.
