SAF CONVOY FALLS IN SPLA√êNORTH’S AMBUSH

More than eight trucks of Sudanese troops heading to Toroje, in Nuba Mountains, to reinforce the local garrison were ambushed and dispersed by SPLA-North forces on Tuesday.

Ramadan I. said the SPLA-North forces scattered the soldiers heading to Toroje.

He added that the troops were coming from the border of South Sudan in a heavy armed convoy to reinforce their forces in Toroje.

Mr Ramadan said SPLA-North forces engaged the convoy with heavy fire including RPGs and destroyed many vehicles and captured ammunitions.

Mr Ramadan said the Sudanese Armed Forces came with nine trucks to reinforce their presence in Toroje but they failed in their mission and were dispersed.

Mr. Issa said the ambush left many causalities among both government troops and SPLA-North forces.
