Football fans in Juba said they want the African Cup of Nations to go to Lusaka, the Zambian Capital.
The Cup of Nations final will be played tomorrow evening at 10 PM in Libreville, the capital of Gabon, between West African giants Ivory Coast and Southern African Zambia.
CRN interview football fans in Juba Market about tomorrow’s game and the majority put their money on Zambia.
Paul, a 35-year old businessman at the market, said he wanted the cup to go to Zambia to remember the players who died in air crashed off Gabon in 1993.
Asked whether Zambia could beat Ivory Coast, a household name in African football, he said football is just a game and nothing was impossible for Zambia.
Mr Paul added that although Ivory Coast is a big name, sometimes big magic does not work.
Stephen Amoko, 29, said he was going to stand behind Zambia simply because he liked supporting underdogs.
He said Zambia has been an underdog throughout the tournament but it was ready to surprise the world.
Mr Amoko added that the match promises to be interesting.
Gal Madut Atem, a 27-year old shoe shiner, said Zambia will carry the trophy to Lusaka with a two or one nil win over Ivory Coast because it has a high capacity football.
He said his first choice to win the African Cup of Nations was Ghana but they were beaten by Zambia.
Chol Kwech Chol, a 32-year old selling cloths, said Ivory Coast will win.
He said Ivorian players are very organized and their attacks are very dangerous because the team leader is a very good runner and knows the game’s tactics.
Mr Kwech added that Ivory Coast has many players in English Premier League and Zambia is just a young team.
CRN tried to register the views of women but they said they did not like football. One said her hobbies were going to the Church and listening to Gospel music and spent time with friends.
