The permanent Constitution of South Sudan needs collective participation in order to cater for the needs of all citizens.

Henry Soka, South Sudan Civil Society Alliance Deputy Chairperson, told the press yesterday in Juba that it is critically important that all sectors of society take part in the constitutional review process so that the Constitution represents everybody.

Mr Soka said the Transitional Constitution was prepared by a small group very quickly and it does not address issues of persons with disabilities, which he qualified as the most marginalized group in South Sudan.

Yesterday, the South Sudan Civil Society Alliance repeated the request to President Salva Kiir Mayardit to have another four representatives from civil society groups in the Constitutional Review Commission.
