The authorities of Yei River County complained about public assets being used by private business people in the county.

Commissioner Elia Waiwai said the county buildings which were rented to merchants during the war are assets which should generate revenue to the county, Radio Eater reported.

He added that the rates should be increases.

Mr Waiwai explained that there are public buildings occupied by SPLA officers that have not been handed to the county authorities.

He said those building should also be a source of income for the County finances.

Mr Waiwai made these statements yesterday during a two-day conference to assess the assets of Yei River County.
