Western Equatoria graduated today more 280 wardens for the Prison Police.
The graduation ceremony took place at Yambio’s Freedom Square and national interior minister Alison Manani Magaya was the guest of honour, Radio Anisa reported.The 288 graduates will be dispatched into the ten counties of Western Equatoria State for effective service at local prisons.
Yambio’s prison for women and the prison hospital were officially opened today as part of the graduation ceremony.
The Catholic Radio Network (CRN) is a media project constituted by community-based radio stations broadcasting in Frequency Modulation from Juba, Yei, Torit, Yambio, Rumbek, Tonj, Wau, and Malakal. Due to the heterogeneous realities of South Sudan, each station is rooted in its locality and broadcasts locally produced culture-sensitive programs in the languages which are understood by the local people. For its outreach, CRN has a potential audience of about seven million people, considering the influx of returnees to South Sudan after the Sudan Population Census 2008.
