The Catholic bishop of Torit celebrated yesterday 23 years in priesthood during a mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church attended by hundreds of faithful.
Fr. Martin Madrara, the Parish priest of Our Lady of Assumption, stirred up ululation among the congregation when he announced the feast Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek and his other colleague priests were celebrating, Radio Emmanuel reported.Fr. Emmanuel Jada, a professor at the Christian University of Nairobi, and Fr. Kamilo Afore, a diocesan priest, were ordained together with Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek, and took part in the festive Eucharist.
Bishop Akio was ordained with another nine priests including some from Tombura-Yambio Diocese, who were also remembered during the celebration.
