Tonj South County youth have formed a Sports Association called Tonj Youth Sports Association (TYSA).
Mr. Dut Lual Anei, the vice chairperson of TYSA, said that the Association will be focusing on street children to create for them leisure time. He added that through sports the new nation can develop if people avoid loitering in the market places and engaging in cattle raiding and take up sport.
Mr. Mathiang Awuek, the chairperson of TYSA, said that he expects the government to help them run their association successfully and fruitfully, by funding it, and that the County commissioner may provide them with land for sports activities.
He urged parents to allow their children to participate in sports and come for regular practice for the betterment of their lives.
The association’s activities involve football, volleyball, netball and basketball plus the traditional activities like wrestling and running race.
