On December 15 2011 members of Eastern Equatoria State Legislative Assembly issued tough conditions to the State Ministry of Finance, Trade and Industries on government expenditures.
This resolution followed findings from a specialized committee disclosing an over-spending in some sectors by the state ministry of finance.
Deputy Speaker Paul Napwon said the measures were to limit the powers of the ministry and avoid over-spending. He complained that the state ministry had taken decisions on some expenditure without approval from the legislative assembly, in breach of the financial appropriation act.
He warned that such cases should happen again in the future.
