The second round of the immunization against tetanus started in Lakes State, spearheaded by the State Ministry of Health in collaboration with UNICEF.

Lakes State EPI Acting Supervisor Zachariah Dhuor told Good News Radio that the immunization campaign targets women between the ages of 15 to 49.

He added that tetanus is a very dangerous disease and called on all women to take the vaccine.

Mr. Dhuor said it was very important that pregnant women were vaccinated against tetanus, to protect the life of both the mother and the unborn child.

He added that the first immunization campaign was held in May last year.

The second round of the immunization campaign against tetanus lasts for five days.

Mr. Dhuor said there are also routine vaccinations taking place at public hospitals in addition to the scheduled vaccination campaigns.
