The University of Juba today missed yet another deadline to kick off lectures due to the interruption of registrations by lecturers’ strike and detained records in Khartoum.

The University’s Principal, Professor Wani Sule, told CRN News that lectures should start today according to the academic calendar.

But he said he was not aware whether indeed the colleges published their timetables.

Khor Puoch Chop, Secretary General of Juba University’s Students Union, explained that late registration and lack of publication of supplementary results impeded the university to start lectures today.

He said the registration was not finished on time and the supplementary results are still stuck in Khartoum.

Mr Puoch added that records for three colleges containing details of final year students have been halted in Khartoum and it is not possible to verify whether students registering were promoted to their final year or not.

All South Sudan public universities were given a deadline to open in November according to High Education Ministry but they all missed it due lack of facilities, lecturesr and other issues.
