A Catholic nursery school in Rumbek held a graduation ceremony for pupils who will be joining primary one early next year.
Bishop Mazzolari Nursery School head teacher Colette Wanjala told Good News Radio that the graduation ceremony was also aimed at bringing parents together to sensitize them on the importance of children’s education.She noted that children need love, care and education especially during their formative years.
Sr. Colette called on parents to help the school meet its operation costs and help feeding the children.
She explained that a kindergarten is very important for children’s growth and development because it provides them with an opportunity to play and receive basic education.
Parents and Teachers Association Secretary Weng Machuei urged parents to take their children for Early Childhood Education adding that children who enrol for education at an early age have higher chance of receiving a better foundation for the future.
He highlighted the need for parents to plan for the education of their children, urging them to put aside some money for school fees ahead of the next intake, which will begin in February.
Over 30 children who graduated from Bishop Caesar Mazzolari Nursery School graduated will be joining St. Daniel Comboni Primary School in January 2012.
