KIIR CALLS ON CITIZENS TO PROTECT FREEDOM OF THE NEW NATION

The President of the Republic urged the citizens of the new nation to protect the freedom of the country that has been achieved through loss of thousands of lives.

Eastern Equatoria state governor Louis Lobong Lojore passed the message of the president to the citizens during the commemoration to mark the 56th anniversary of Torit Uprising.

He said the heroes who died for the freedom and liberation of people of South Sudan did not lose their lives without cause.

The governor reminded the citizens of Eastern Equatoria state that it was on the 18th August 1955 that sons and daughters of the state fired the first bullet for liberation.

The event was attended by state ministers, government advisors, and some county commissioners.
