The caretaker minister for Housing and Physical Planning unveiled today a plan to build 50 housing units on the Juba-Yei road in the next few days.
Jemma Nunu Kumba told journalists that her ministry is launching the first pilot project to construct 50 houses with full infrastructures like water network, drainage system and power generating plant for government officials.She explained that the units are two-room flats, bungalows and villas.
She said the housing units will accommodate all categories of government officials, right from top civil servants to junior civil servants.
The minister added that 23 million South Sudanese Pounds were approved earlier by the parliament for the project.
An international company has been awarded the contract.
It will cover 50 percent of the budget.
Similar projects will be implemented in Jonglei, Lakes and Western Equatoria states.
