Eastern Equatoria state authorities have resolved the delayed currency exchange process in Budi County.

Fear had gripped residents of Kimotong, Napak and Ngarich Sub-Counties in Budi County of Eastern Equatoria State over the unexchanged huge amounts of old Sudanese pounds currency they possess, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Governor Louis Lobong Lojore revealed to the press that the state currency exchange committee was in fear of security threats in areas of Camp 15 and other hot points that experienced attacks.

He said the conflict has been resolved and arrangements made to start currency exchange with the affected areas.

Charles Odwar, the chairperson for the state currency exchange committee, told Radio Emmanuel that a team in Lauro will shift to cover all the areas that had not been reached.

Meanwhile Budi community leaders held series of meetings with the State Government where they expressed their displeasure over the delays saying Chukudum and Lauro are the only two centres in Budi County.
