The National Legislative Assembly has barred bodyguards from entering the House with small arms or any kind of weapons.

The announcement was made to MPs during the second seating of the National Legislature today in Juba.

All arms are to be left at the reception and owners can collect them at their exit.

The speaker of the Council States, Joseph Bol Chan said, the move was taken as a precautionary measure because some people want to enter with arms even when they are body guards.

He added that MPs should feel secure while entering the Assembly.
