A midwife denied allegation that one colleague stole a newborn baby from Juba Teaching Hospital.

Last week, rumours spread around Juba that a midwife stole one of the newlyborn twin baby girls.

Bakhita Radio asked Ms. Zaitun, a midwife at Juba Teaching hospital, if the rumours were true.

She said the woman who stole the baby was neither a midwife nor a nurse but someone who pretended to be an assistant to the mother of the twins.

She affirmed that the woman was later found in her house at New Site together with the baby girl.

She added that the baby was stolen from the incubator while receiving some medical attention at Juba Teaching Hospital.

The child was in bad condition but was taken care of by some medical officials.

Ms. Zaitun said the woman was arrested and taken to prison.
