Restaurant owners in Nuba Mountains have asked the authorities to reduce the prices of goods in the markets.

They said the prices of meat are still high and they urged the government to talk to the traders’ authority to reduce prices.

Anan, who works at a restaurant, said one kilo of goat meat sells for 16 pounds and of cow costs 14 pounds.

He added that meat vendors are selling the meat at higher prices with the excuse that animals are expensive.

The sharp raise of commodity goods in Nuba mountains is attribute to the ongoing war between the SPLA-north forces and SAF.
