A security official said Lakes State is experiencing an environment of peace and tranquility, assuring foreign investors of improved security.
Lieutenant Colonel Moses Mayek Dongbil is the Chief Inspector of Police in Lakes State. He told Good News Radio that there have not been any cases of violence in the State since the Independence and only cases of adultery were reported to his office.He said he was satisfied with the work of security officers in the State, remarking that there is freedom of movement due to improved security.
Mr. Mayek called on foreigners to feel free to invest in Lakes State, adding that their lives and property are protected.
He also said that the new nation of South Sudan is being guided by the rule of law.
During the first half of this year, Lakes State witnessed some of the worst intercommunity violence resulting in loss of many lives including women and children, some killed in cold blood.
