The President of the Republic met yesterday with the Speaker of the National Legislative Assembly to discuss matters related to the SPLM Caucus in both houses of the national legislature.
James Wani Igga told the press that he discussed with Salva Kiir Mayardit the need to address the SPLM members in both the National Legislative Assembly and the Council of the States.President Kiir met yesterday evening with the SPLM representatives at the Council of States. Today he will hold a meeting with the SPLM MPs at the legislative assembly.
Mr. Igga also announced that the Council of States holds its first sitting today and the National Legislative Assembly will meet tomorrow.
Assembly sources told SCR News that President Kiir will address both Houses in a joint sitting on Monday.
