Students who want to study solar and electrical installation and simple construction and environmental technology at St. Peter Claver Ecological Training Centre in Rumbek will have to register until tomorrow.

Fr. George Kimonge, who directs the training centre, told Good News Radio that the registration for this year’s intake concludes tomorrow.

He said that the training centre has capacity for 30 students: 15 for each course.

The registration is free of charge.

The eight-month course costs 300 South Sudanese Pounds.

Cyprian Doke, a teacher of simple construction, environmental technology, and hand-pump installation and maintenance, said the training at St. Peter Claver Ecological Training Centre involves both theory and practical works.

He explained that students follow a six-hour dailylesson plan: one hour is for technical theory, two hours for technical practicals and the remaining three hours are divided between computer skills, English language and mathematics.

Former students at the centre praised the institution, encouraging other youth to enrol and gain skills to build their new nation.

The new courses start on Monday.
