A mass is being celebrated today in Nairobi, Kenya, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, in memory of the late Bishop Caesar Mazzolari.
Bishop Macram Max Gassis of El Obeid presides over the Requiem Mass at 11 am.
Bishop Caesar Mazzolari passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011 and was laid to rest inside Holy Family Cathedral in Rumbek on Monday, July 18, 2011.
Priests, religious and faithful of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek express their “sincere gratitude to all friends, confreres, benefactors and representatives of the Government of the Republic of South Sudan for their overwhelming support” following the sudden and unexpected death of Bishop Mazzolari.
The message was published on Wednesday in Kenya’s Daily Nation newspaper.
