Former Red Army members are organizing a thanksgiving celebration in Juba to mark the birth of the Republic of South Sudan.
The Red Army youths are the children of civil war fighters who grew in refugee camps outside South Sudan.Former Red Army Bishop Abraham Yel Nhail chairs the organizing committee for the thanksgiving celebration.
He told journalists today that the Red Army would like to sensitize the government and the people of South Sudan about the role they played during the liberation struggle.
He said their mission was accomplished.
Bishop Yel added that it was the right thing for the Red Army to thank God for sparing their lives and protecting them throughout the horrors of war.
The thanksgiving celebration will take place at Nyakuron Cultural Centre on Friday.
