Farmers in Nuba Mountains are having difficulties to buy fuel and spare parts for their tractors due to the on-going war.

Mohammed Adam Ali, who owns a ploughing tractor in Umm-Drudu, said farmers have limited access to fuel and cannot cultivate the land as they used.

He said they were continuing with their hard work despite the war but they had to stop due to lack of fuel, engine oil and spare parts.

Mr. Adam explained that the on-going war does not allow tractor owners to buy spare parts from Kadugli.

The farmer said had to pay 120 Pounds for 20 litres of diesel.

Mr. Adam added that it was not easy to find the fuel in the region.

He urged farmers to share their fuel stocks in order to plough their farms and produce much needed food.
