The leadership of the SPLM-North Sector met in South Kordofan to analyze the current affairs in the Sudan and launched an alternative to the NCP rule.

SPLM-North Chairman Malik Agar, Vice Chairman Abdelaziz El Hillu and Secretary General Yasir Arman met somewhere in South Kordofan on Wednesday and Thursday.

The leaders said in a statement signed by Mr. Arman that during the current war the NCP has committed massive human rights violations, including war crimes, ethnic cleansing and displacement of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, including children and women.

They blame the NCP for the separation of South Sudan and accuse the ruling party in Khartoum of working to destroy the relationship between the two countries.

They accused the NCP of harming the interests of millions of nomads and innocent citizens, including traders and businessmen whose interests are linked with South Sudan.

These policies include expelling of millions of southerners from the Sudan and putting in place a food and fuel blockade to the South Sudan.

The statement says these acts are criminal and should be punished.

The SPLM-North is proposing the establishment of a movement for change called Forces of the New Sudan to topple the NCP from power either through a regime change or a national consensus program agreed upon by all political forces.

The leaders invited other political forces to work together to build a movement for change and to agree on a common umbrella under an united leadership.

The SPLM-North said it will negotiate with Khartoum only through a third party and outside Sudan.

The statement defines the SPLM-North as a Sudanese national movement that seeks to change the policies of the center in Khartoum and to build a new center for the benefit of all Sudanese people regardless of their religion, gender or ethnicity background.
