A leading politician in South Sudan said the formation of the national government of the new Republic needs careful meditation.

Joseph Lagu is a former President of High Executive Council and the leader of Anyanya One war. He explained that the responsibilities of the leaders of South Sudan increased with the independence.

Mr. Lagu called upon the citizens of South Sudan to sympathize with the president and pray for his efforts to form a national government.

Isaac Kenyi Kongor is a peace and political activist. He said the national government needs to be formed from technocrats and not political leaders.

Mr. Kenyi added that South Sudan must fight tribalism, saying the national government should not be dominated by one tribe.

The two political figures were speaking at a forum organized yesterday by Bakhita Radio under the topic What kind of government will our President establish.

The show was attended by several media houses, including South Sudan TV, SCR News and Liberty FM.
