The late Bishop Caesar Mazzolari of Rumbek was laid to rest inside Holy Family Cathedral on Monday evening, three days earlier than had been originally planned.
Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak of Wau told Good News Radio that the burial was antecipated because the medication administered to the body by the doctor was helpful for only 24 hours.He clarified that the main funeral celebration and the official prayers for the repose of the soul of the late bishop will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011.
Presiding over the burial ceremony, Bishop Deng wished the late bishop happiness and peace in the company of God the Father in the presence of Jesus Christ.
He prayed that the angels of the Lord receive the soul of the late bishop and present it to God the most high.
Bishop Deng expressed confidence that the late bishop will be raised to life together with all those who have died in Christ.
He also prayed that God helps those mourning the late bishop to comfort each other with the assurance of faith in Jesus the Lord.
