The Sudanese authorities are asking all employers to submit the names of South Sudanese in their working forces.

Business people, churches and others have received a letter saying they have to register immediately the names of South Sudanese working for them in the Sudan.

A Church source told SCR News that the South Sudanese workers have nine months to get a Sudanese passport or else they have to be dismissed from their jobs.

The business community is pressing the government not to enact the order.

The Sudanese Parliament is expected to approve the Nationality Act during this week.
