Members of the Khorfulus community of Jonglei State living in Khartoum issued a statement greeting the independence of South Sudan.
The statement says that it is a matter of great joy that finally South Sudan reached the goal and its dream of almost one century of struggling.The community congratulates Salva Kiir Mayardit for being the first president of the Republic of South Sudan.
They also appreciated Mr. Kiir’s renewed amnesty to armed groups in South Sudan.
The Khorfulus community said the pardon could end the suffering of civilians in South Sudan and a step forward towards peace, stability, unity, strength and development.
