Some youths have arrested over 30 heads of cattle being carried by lorry to Nimule.

Two lorries from Juba were intercepted in Pageri when they stopped for refuelling, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Aliordo Francis, a representative of the internally displaced community in Nimule, said Pageri people clashed with the cattle owners at the petrol station.

Mr. Aliardo said the animals belonged to Ayol Aguur of Owinykibul.

The animals were heading to Nimule for dowry payment.

He said the owner of the animals had lived for long as an IDP in Owinykibul.

Nimule Payam chief Ajugo Livio George confirmed the capture of the animals but disagreed that the two lorries were from Owinykibul.

He said the lorries were from Juba but he was not sure about the origin of the animals.

He explained that the Eastern Equatoria authorities issued an order asking IDPs to move their cattle from Nimule.

He wondered why more animals were being brought to the area.

Mr. Ajugo said Nimule Payam is preparing to send off IDPs who have settled in the area with over 5,000 cattle.
