USA IDENTIFIES AREAS OF COLLABORATION IN SOUTH SUDAN

A representative of the US in South Sudan said her country is ready to collaborate with South Sudan, identifying some specific areas of partnership.

Natasha Greenberg represented the US Embassy during the Independence Day celebration at Lakes State capital, Rumbek.

Ms. Greenberg announced that her country is prepared to partner with South Sudan in dealing with insecurity and building a diversified economy that will ensure job creation, education and health services.

She called on South Sudanese to be patient with the leaders as they work towards achieving the above goals, explaining that change is a gradual process.

Ms. Greenberg acknowledged the challenges that the Republic is bound to face, but insisted that these challenges can be overcome by strong principles, hard work and promotion of local participation.

She recognized the inspirational role of Dr. John Garang, adding that USA looks forward to working with different leaders in South Sudan both in the public and in the private sectors.

She congratulated the people of South Sudan for achieving their independence, expressing the solidarity between the American people and South Sudanese.
