Norway said today it will offer to the new born Republic of South Sudan the present of a National Archive to keep historic documents safe.
Crown Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway made the pledge this afternoon in Juba during his speech at the Declaration of Independence ceremony.Currently the National archives are kept in deplorable conditions in a huge tent at the mercy of mice, termites, heat, humidity and dust, or spread into different offices.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit decided that the flag of Sudan that was lowered today in Juba after the declaration of independence is to be kept at the National Archive.
