The President of the Republic of Sudan said there is need for sustainable peace between the two countries and put behind the culture of violence within their borders.
Omar Hassan El Basher said in his speech at the Declaration of Independence in Juba that his government has worked hard to achieve the unity of the country.He said Sudan will respect South Sudan and help build strong economic development.
Mr. Bashir added that the two countries should embark on building positive relationship based on mutual understanding.
He said the peoples of both countries will keep social and historical ties.
