SPEAKER HONORED TO READ PROCLAMATION OF INDEPENDENCE

The speaker of South Sudan Legislative Assembly says it is a great honour for him to read tomorrow the proclamation of independence of the Republic of South Sudan.

James Wani Igga told SCR News that he was overjoyed and cheerful to be tasked to announce the independence of South Sudan tomorrow.

Mr. Igga added the people have struggle for over 38 years for the tomorrow’s day.

He said he was one of the veterans of the struggle for independence.

Mr. Igga said the new National Assembly will have 326 members: the 170 elected MP’s plus 96 MPs who were representation South Sudan in Khartoum and 66 members from South Sudan’s political parties.
