Some children wounded by shrapnel from air bombardments in Nuba Mountains are recovering well in a local hospital.
The nurse in charge of the children’s ward said the hospital was treating several children wounded by bombs. She added that so far all of them survived their wounds.
She said other interned children suffer from respiratory problems and severe malaria.
The nurse asked parents and relatives to bring their children to hospital as soon as they got sick.
She lamented that people went to the “kujur”, the local doctor, and when the patients finally arrive in the hospital they are very sick.
The nurse thanked the neighbours of the health centre for visiting the people wounded by the war who came from far and do not have relatives to assist them.
