The youth in Lakes State are happy to celebrate independence and have dreams and aspirations about the new nation.
Good News Radio caught up with various youths on Saturday in Rumbek who expressed their excitement ahead of Independence Day.Maker Deng Nyar, 25, is a native of Rumbek and a second year student at Uganda Christian University. He said his family has prepared a goat to celebrate independence together.
He added that he dreams of a participatory government that involves the grassroots, a God fearing nation where the rights of the people are duly respected and all children go to school.
Abraham Pieng Mawat, 18, attending Rumbek Secondary School, said he dreams of a nation that is guided by freedom, peace and hard work.
He urged the youth in Lakes State to desist from crime.
Elijah Goch, from the Wulu Episcopal Church of Sudan, said the youth from his Church organized a procession on Saturday and they are fasting and praying in preparation for the Independence Day.
He expressed appreciation for the national anthem and prayed that God truly blesses South Sudan.
South Sudanese are looking forward to the celebration of Independence with great expectation.
