South Sudan takes full entitlement of its oil production right from Independence Day and it will be also responsible for selling its crude.

Oil minister in the Government of National Unity Lual Achiek told journalists at Juba International Airport today that Khartoum will not have any say on South Sudan’s oil after independence.

He said the SPLM negotiating team in Addis Ababa and Vice President Riek Machar Teny confirmed that the oil from the South Sudan’s wells should not be shared with Khartoum.

He added that the oil companies working in South Sudan have to submit their reports to Juba instead of Khartoum.

Dr. Lual explained that the oil produced within the first week of July will be shared according to the CPA formula.

He said from July 9 onwards the Government of South Sudan takes full control of crude production and commercialization.

Dr. Lual dismissed Pagan Amum’s accusation that he has sold some a 40 percent share of South Sudan’s oil to the North.

He accused Mr. Amum of lacking ethics in politics.

Dr. Lual added that Mr. Amum should be a full time SPLM secretary general.

He added the secretary general violated the party’s constitution accepting to be a GoSS minister.
