MALAKAL COUNTY SEARCHES FOR EXPIRED GOODS

Upper Nile health authorities started a five-day campaign to seize expired goods on sale in shops and markets of Malakal.

Malakal County health campaign officer Nyago Mathew Mojwok said inspectors have already collected a big quantity of expired goods unfit for human consumption, Voice of Love FM reported.

He appealed to Malakal consumers to avoid buying from butchers who sell meat without the veterinary authorities’ markings because it can be dangerous for health.

Mr. Mojwok appealed to consumers to check the expired dates of any product before buying or using it.

He also urged sellers to report to the health department any expired items for destruction.

Mr. Mojwok added that selling expired goods was illegal and a represents a health hazard.
