HORIOK COMMUNITY OF TORIT ELECTS TRADITIONAL LEADERS

Members of Horiok Community in Torit county elected traditional leaders to the supreme council to oversee issues affecting the people.

In a meeting held on Saturday, German Charles Ojok was voted the Chairperson of the Council while Olimbio Olak Daniel as the deputy Chairperson among others, Emmanuel Rdio reported.

The newly elected Chairperson of the community said the people of Horiok asked the government to grant them their own county comprising of Hilieu, Ifwotu and Imurok Payams.

Mr. Ojok stressed that the Horiok community despite their demand for a separate county from the mother-Torit county, will continue to live in harmony with other neighbouring communities in the state.

The state Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Clement Chichim Laku officially opened the Horiok community meeting where the resolution for a new County was reached.
