SPLM NEEDS 75 PERCENT SITS IN PARLIAMENT TO WIN SOUTH KORDOFAN POPULAR CONSULTATION

A member of parliament at the national level loyal to SPLM said his party needs 75 percent of the seats at the South Sudan Kordofan state parliament to achieve full implementation of the popular consultation protocol.

James Mary Kuku is a member of parliament at National Legislative Assembly on women list for Heiban County. She told Voice of Peace Radio after casting her vote that to achieve the objective of the popular consultation voters need to choose more SPLM representatives to the parliament.

She added that it would be unpleasant news to hear that their opponent NCP has more seats in state parliament because the objective of the popular consultation is not in their interest.

The Southern Kordafan Election that was delayed due to disagreement over the census results in 2010 kicked off yesterdasy morning.

The election is schedule to end tomorrrow.
