Eastern Equatoria authorities recovered six guns and over 20 heads of cattle from raiders in Torit County.
Deputy Governor Nartisio Manir Loluke said the security forces were trying to find the lawful owners of the stolen cattle collected in Loudo and Loronyo areas.Mr. Manir added that the operation followed security resolutions passed recently to arrest all the criminals in the state and search for stolen animals to give them back to the owners.
The deputy governor said the cattle, the guns and two arrested people were evidence that the state government was serious about law and order.
Mr. Manir said the arrests were done peacefully in collaboration with the community.
He added that the government does not forcefully disarm the people but recovers weapons used to commit crimes.
