The wards of Yei Civil Hospital are overcrowded with beds filling corridors and verandas.

Senior medical director Dr. Simbe Paul told Easter Radio that most patients in the surgery ward were admitted due to road accidents caused by vehicles and motorcycles.

He added the number of patients suffering from malaria and typhoid was also increasing daily.

Dr. Paul said the hospital is short of staff adding clinical officers and certified nurses were not enough to assist the patients.

The director appealed to the ministry of health to increase the number of medical stuff in Yei hospital to provide sufficient services to patients.
